Runners of all ages and abilities are always welcome at Horsforth Harriers, we cater for one and all. We also have two members able to communicate in BSL, so this includes deaf runners.

FEES
New membership is £56 which includes the EA Competition Licence and a Horsforth Harriers vest. Membership runs from April to March. Preferential rates apply to any members joining in the 3 months between January and March.

If paid before the end of April 2017 membership renewal is £39 which includes the £13 England Athletics (EA) Competition Licence. The EA Competition Licence enables runners to compete in EA events as an affiliated member of Horsforth Harriers.

An additional re-joining fee of £5 is applicable for members who let their membership expire, i.e. do not pay by the end of April 2017.

Social membership is £10 and allows participation in all social events organised by Horsforth Harriers.

To represent Horsforth Harriers in any club event such as the BMW, LCW, PECO, Yorkshire Vets and the Club Championship you must purchase an EA race licence.

Prospective members are invited to run with us a couple of times before deciding whether to join. Just turn up any Tuesday evening or contact us for more information.

Horsforth Harriers Q & A

Where do you meet?
Horsforth Harriers meet every Tuesday from 7pm. Groups set off at 7.30pm. We are based at the Horsforth Community Sports Association building (King George’s Playing Field, Brownberrie Lane). See contact page for full address and a map.

Where can I park?
There is a dedicated car park and nearby street parking. Please be aware of restricted zones and don’t upset the locals!

Are there showers?
Yes. We have use of two shower rooms.

Is there a safe place to leave valuables?
There is a safe and we take security very seriously. However, we don’t have exclusive use of the building and ask that you try to leave your valuables at home or carry them on your run.

Do l have to pay when I arrive?
No. We invite you to run with us a couple of times and then join officially. No further payment is required for normal training and showers.

Is the club open all year round?
Open all year and in all weather. No excuses!

Do I have to buy a vest and take part in races?
A club vest is included in your joining fee and you will be encouraged to take part in relays and to proudly wear your club colours whenever you race.

Will there be a group to suit my ability?
Don’t worry about this. We have many groups from beginner to winner. All our group leaders are England Athletics qualified and fully insured. Full details of training groups can be found in the Members Section of this website.

Do you train any other times?
Speed work sessions are available to full members and runners of similar ability meet up to train.

How will I be kept informed of any activities?
We have a closed Facebook group, targeted emails and of course this wonderful website!

Will I be asked to become involved in any voluntary work?
We hold our own race each year which boosts club funds. All members are required to help on a rota basis.
