Rombalds Stride

On Saturday 3rd February, it was time for Harriers to ‘get ready to Rombalds’ at the Rombalds Stride, a 22.5-mile romp across Baildon and Rombalds Moor. This year runners endured mud, bogs and snow. James Hingley was first Harrier home in 3:25:56 finishing in 23rd place. He was followed by Nathan Crossley 3:28:43, Andy Perkinson 4:08:44, Tim Knighton 4:20:57, Theresa Duckett 4:46:21, Serena Blackburn 4:53:21, Jill Hobson 4:57:54, Fiona Dickie 4:57:57, Sarah Papadimos 5:45:31, Alison Traynor 5:45:36, Alan Squire 6:40:39 and Hilary Wharam 7:12:35. 442 finished.

Bolton Abbey Trail Running Festival

Organised by the folks at ‘It’s Grim Up North Running’ this is a running festival with two days of races held in the beautiful surroundings of Bolton Abbey. Two Harriers took part in the 8.8-mile route. Cath Gray finished in 1:32:55 and Jackie Ford in 1:33:01.

Dewsbury 10K

This is a straight out and back with 115 feet of gradual elevation to climb in the first half. The downhill return encourages runners towards the finish and offers great PB potential. 13 Harriers took part this year. David Womersley was first Harrier home in 42:35 (1st M65). He was followed by: Becky Lawrence 43:28, Jonathan Shaw 50:57, Victoria Brides 51:59, Clare Dougherty 52:55, Tommy Dickson 53:11, Steven Allen 53:50, Jacqueline Stack 56:54, Philip Ramsden 57:12, Fiona Waterhouse 57:32, Phil Smedley 58:43, Carol Ramsden 1:00:30 and Sarah Mills 1:03:08. 1238 runners finished.

Harriers at Dewsbury 10K

St Wilfrid’s Muddy Boots 10K

The Muddy Boots is a 10k race which starts & finishes at St Wilfrid’s Primary School in Ripon. It incorporates a run through a multi-terrain course, over undulating farmland and through picturesque countryside, including road, footpaths & trails. Sean Veal was the only Harrier taking part this year finishing in 47:28.
