Bradford Millennium Way Relay 2018

The Bradford Millennium Way Relay consists of 5 legs, run in pairs, starting in Bingley, going through the beautiful surroundings of Oxenhope, Haworth, Laycock, Silsden, Addingham and Ilkley – a total of 47.5 miles and 6300ft of climb. Teams can be any combination with Open, Ladies, Mixed and Vets categories. Soaring temperatures made for tough conditions this year. 50 teams ran.

Horsforth Harriers Open A (7th place) – Paul Gidlow & Neil Burton/Steve Raby & Andy Perkinson/Alan Squire & Lee Greenhalgh/Reece Milton & Mark A Smith/Phil Boynton & Mark Smith – 6:35:10

Horsforth Harriers Ladies A (26th place) –  Aisling Wall & Lindsey Clegg/Bev Hurst & Becky Lawrence/Charlie McNichol & Jenny Harrison/Bev Elliott & Joanna Shevlin/Liz Huby & Carly Pettett – 8:00:08

Horsforth Harriers Open B – Phil McGeever & Martin McCleave/Ron Taverner & Martin Coates/Jim Hopkinson & Ian Taylor/Ed Sanders & Garth De Roux/Philip Wilkinson & James Mangeolles – 8:28:30

Horsforth Harriers Ladies B – Alison Traynor & Natalie Wood/ Naakesha Seth & Nicola Revill/Cath Gray & Marianne Burgess/Gini Knight & Sarah Papadimos/Ruth Hodgson & Serena Blackburn – 9:32:01

Wilmslow Half Marathon

The Wilmslow Half Marathon is a flat, one lap course on mainly flat rural roads. The race had been cancelled due to snow in March and was rescheduled. Steve Wood was the only Harrier running this year, crossing the line in 01:54:06. 2210 ran.

Humber Bridge Half Marathon

This is an undulating loop that is run entirely on road, crossing the Humber Bridge in both directions and passing through nearby villages on the way. Two Harriers took part in this year’s race. Sean Veal finished in 1:35:11 and Jessica Jones in 1:53:14.

Glorious Gargrave

Another race organised by the ‘It’s Grim Up North Running’ team. The race is run fully on canal towpaths and is mostly trails and grass but can be quite rugged underfoot in places. Runners could choose from 5K distance through to Ultra. Hot weather made for tough conditions this year. Harriers results were as follows:
