Thunder Run

The 9th edition of the 24h Conti Thunder Run was held on the weekend of 22nd & 23rd July 2017 at its regular venue Catton Park, Walton on Trent. This is an off-road relay race against the clock.

Start of Conti Thunder Run 2017

One team member must be on the course at all times during the 24hrs. Runners must complete one full 10km lap before changing over with a team mate but may run 2, 3 or more laps at a time before changeover. The team with the most laps completed when the clock stops after 24hrs will win.

Well done to the teams who took part.

Amazing achievement for Steve Raby, Aisling Wall, Lindsey Clegg, Ian Fitzgerald and Rob Wells who finished 2nd in the mixed 3-5 groups.

Northumberland Coastal Run

This is a multi-terrain race taking in trails, footpaths, beaches and roads. The Northumberland Coastal Run is one of the most spectacular races in Britain. Starting at Beadnell, the route takes runners through fishing villages, along the beach and in the shadow of Dunstanborough Castle before finishing in Alnmouth. The actual distance varies from year to year depending on tides but is usually about 14 miles. Torrential rain and mud made for tough running conditions this year.
