The first day of the Blackpool Festival of Running. As always the event is run on Blackpool’s Promenade’s passing all the great landmarks and tourist spots. This festival is ideal for all the family and Blackpool is always a great weekend away! The two-day festival offers runners a choice of 2K, 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and Marathon routes. Victoria Brides finished the 10K route in 01:00:44 and Lisa Speed in 01:04:12.

Virgin London Marathon 2018
The London Marathon was first run on 29th March 1981 and has been held in the spring of every year since. Event director Hugh Brasher hailed the 2018 Virgin Money London Marathon as “an extraordinary day” as more people than ever before made the 26-mile journey from Greenwich to Westminster. With temperatures rising to 24°C on Sunday afternoon, it was officially the hottest race day on record.
14 Harriers finished the race this year. First Harrier home was Neil Burton in 0:2:44:47. He was followed by: Mark Smith 02:55:54, Neal Edmondson 03:02:40, Lindsey Clegg 03:06:55, Emily Turner 03:47:33 Beverly Hurst 03:57:30, Liz Huby 04:00:16, Steve Raby 04:00:31, Ed Sanders 04:05:41, Andrew Smith 04:27:37, Helen Barber 04:34:44, Martin McCleave 04:38:13, Naakesha Seth 04:54:37, Lee Beetham 05:15:31 and Lindsey Lobley 06:08:01.

Blackpool Marathon & Half Marathon 2018
The second day of the Blackpool Festival of Running. This marathon is a two-lap course and is very flat for the PB chasers. As always, the event is run on Blackpool’s Promenade passing all the great landmarks. The weather in Blackpool was a bit different to London, just 12 degrees and the race started in heavy rain. Only one Harrier taking part this year. Colin McFadden completed the course in 03:11:06. 574 finished.
Blackpool Half Marathon
Two Harriers took part in the Half Marathon race. Victoria Brides finished in 01:54:35 and Clare Dougherty in 02:00:04.
