This is a scenic but hilly course following a route around Studley Royal and Fountains Abbey, mainly on good trails and minor roads. Four Harriers took part in this year’s race. Neal Edmondson was first Harrier home and 13th overall in 1:05:47. He was followed by: Martin McCleave 1:24:27, Ruth Hodgson 1:32:13 and Keith Park 1:32:24. 455 finished.
Bluebell Trail Race
This is a 10.3-mile multi-terrain race taking in woodland, canal towpaths, tracks, trails, cobbled streets and the beautiful bluebell woods in the heart of Yorkshire. With its ups and downs, as well as the unique river crossing, runners are guaranteed to finish with a splash in this race of true Yorkshire grit. Bev Hurst was first Harrier home in 1:45:07. She was followed by: Jill Hobson 1:52:02, Merry Hill 2:05:05, Emma Harris 2:18:28, Tommy Dickson 2:18:28 and Fiona Waterhouse 2:24:19.
Leeds Half Marathon 2018
The forecast was rain but the reality was warm and dry conditions for the 33rd Leeds Half Marathon. First Harrier across the line was Philip Boynton in 1:19:16. He was followed by: Chris Roebuck 1:23:16, Reece Milton 1:28:07, Lindsey Clegg 1:28:14 (2nd female finisher), Graham Cottam 1:35:15, Ed Sanders 1:36:06, Max Rowell 1:37:21, Brendan Foley 1:40:42, Jenny Oldridge 1:42:17, Sean Veal 1:46:50, Fiona Dickie 1:47:10, Joanna Shevlin 1:47:32, Ian Robertshaw 1:47:37, 6085 finished. Jenny Harrison 1:49:33, James Pierce 1:47:31, Darran Wilson 1:48:46, Bartley Foulkes 1:50:28, Kevin Watson 1:51:16, Jane Girdham 1:53:52, Jessica Jones 1:54:32, Giles Wilkes 1:53:34, Steven Allen 1:54:46, Emma Harrop 1:55:54, David Dutton 1:57:26, Gini Knight 1:57:54, Sarah Papadimos 2:01:43, Ben Whitehead 2:07:38, Fiona Meth 2:13:28, Jacqueline Stack 2:15:27, Amy Hannell 2:19:25, Ben Baldwin 2:23:33, Kathryn Maltby 2:39:52, Sarah Mills 2:44:59 and Hilary Wharam 2:57:55.
