The race is known for its varied terrain which includes mud and streams, gravel tracks, extremely steep hills, speedy downhill parts and road. Staring from the Cenotaph in Pudsey it plunges down into the Fulneck Valley, climbs out on the Bradford side, loops round and descends again with a steep ascent back up to Pudsey and a 3km finish along the roads, the last 800m uphill and into the park. Official gun times were as follows. Mark A Smith was first Harrier home in 44:18.02. He was followed by: Lindsey Clegg 44:22.25 (1st lady finisher), Sean Veal 45:43.00, Brendan Foley 46:43.98, Hayley Lawrence 49:24.51, David Womersley 49:28.21, Jane Glover 55:47.51, Ben Whitehead 59:41.64, Tommy Dickson 1:01:20, Phil Smedley 1:06:51 and Keith Park 1:16:12.
