RACE RESULTS – Saturday 6th February 2016
To say this year’s Rombalds conditions were “boggy and rainy” would be an understatement! According to Keith Park, it was officially the wettest and muddiest in 35 years of the event.
Organised by the 15th Airedale Scout Group, the Rombalds Stride Winter Challenge starts and finishes at St. Oswald’s Junior School in Guiseley. The route takes in some of Yorkshire’s finest scenery, going up the Airedale Valley, over Rombalds Moor to Ilkley and across Otley Chevin. The 23 mile route is to be completed within a 10 hour time limit. First Harrier back and finishing in 5th position was Richard Pattinson in 2:55:00, followed closely by 11th placed Neal Edmondson in 3:03:00. RACE RESULTS – Sunday 7th February 2016
An out and back course along a straight road through an urban area, this course offers excellent PB potential. Runners faced a strong head wind on the return. Steve Large was first Harrier home in 37:54 followed by Jon Eagle in 41:31.
St. Wilfrid’s Muddy Boots 10k
The Muddy Boots incorporates a run through a multi-terrain course, over undulating farmland and through picturesque countryside, including road, footpaths & trails. Mark Monaghan finished 11th in 39:44 followed by Nigel Monaghan in 43:54.
