On Saturday 8th December, over 300 runners took part in a “solidarity run” in support of a group of runners who were recently attacked at the end of a training session. Several members of St Theresa’s Athletics Club, including a 71-year-old man, were victims of the assault at Temple Newsam last month. The solidarity run was organised by St Theresa’s AC member, Tillie Clark, the training partner of the man attacked. Club secretary Karren Sherras said the response from runners was “fantastic”.

Jacqueline Stack said after the event: “What an amazing atmosphere and a fantastic turnout, 311 runners including 25 Horsforth Harriers. The sun shone and the rain had stopped in time for the start and stayed away for the duration of the run. First timers and pb’s a plenty.”

Also, big congratulations to Cath Gray as this was also her 300th parkrun. #WeStandSolid
